2023 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about JAREN HALL:

BYU | H: 6001 W: 211 40: 4.85 A: 2934 H: 0912 W: 7178

Two-year starter, Spanish Fork, UT. Will turn 25 years old before the draft. Comes from an athletic family, as his brothers and parents have played different sports for BYU. Hall also played baseball for the Cougars for two seasons. He missed 2020 with an injury, the final year Zach Wilson was the starter. Since then, he has scored 54 touchdowns, thrown just 11 interceptions, and went 18-8 as the starter. His arm talent jumps off the screen and he is an excellent scrambler. Makes several NFL-caliber throws look routine and there is a mature competitive mindset here that can maximize his talent. Does some of his best passing work on the move. His maturity and intangibles will be a welcomed addition to any quarterback room. Thickly built. Has the frame of a running back and it translates to extra RPMs and velocity on his throws. Can flick the wrist and put it on a rope outside the opposite hash. Clean release and can spin it. Accurate while on the move. An argument can be made that he is a more accurate passer while on the run. Keeps his heartbeat low in big situations, dials it in and remains confident. Plus-athlete with good vision as a runner. Can run away from defenders but also shows good vision and cutting ability to create in traffic. Erratic footwork caused several misses. Does not get all the cleats in the ground prior to releasing the ball. Too many misses when trying to layer between levels of the defense. Evades the pocket too soon at times. Has a small frame with short arms. Does not always seem comfortable from the pocket. There are multiple issues with his footwork, and he has multiple shortcomings when it comes to size. The NFL will have to weigh the risk/reward of his consistent glitches found on tape with his plus-talent as both a thrower and runner. He projects to a backup role but there is something in him that can evolve into more.

2022 Stats: 248/376, 3171 yds, 66%, 31 TD, 6 INT, 352 yds rushing, 3 TD, 2 rec, 28 yds, 1 TD, 160.8 QB rating. 5th/6th round.
