Three year starter, Atlanta, GA. First team All-SEC in 2022. Became a starter in 2020 halfway through the season after playing special teams and sub packages in a talented Georgia secondary. He’s undersized for a safety but plays bigger than he is and shows no fear tackling to go with playmaking skill as a deep safety. Solid athlete, he’s fluid changing directions and has excellent speed for the position. There’s no wasted movement in reactions. He’s adept at deep zone coverage with outstanding ability to read the quarterback and receivers. He consistently finds the throwing lane forcing hesitancy and bad throws by quarterbacks. Excellent range in deep coverage he can get over a vertical route with smooth transition from pedal to opening up his hips. He’s also sudden to break on throws in front of him and can get to the catch point. He has made some outstanding plays breaking on intermediate and short throws. Excellent ball skills he high points interception opportunities and has natural hands. He’s shown the ability to work in the box and match inside receivers. Mirrors route breaks and stays focused on the receiver. Consistent in run support he is quick to read run/pass and covers ground in a hurry getting to the alley. Has range in pursuit and can chase across the field. He can slip and avoid blocks on the move and doesn’t shy away from contact. As an undersized safety he can get washed out of a play if a blocker gets leverage on him. He’s shown some inconsistency tackling bigger targets and there have been some misses. While he has some experience moving in the box he is likely limited to a back end role specializing in deep coverage in one and two high looks. Has been a solid special team player.
