Ourlads' Profile:
2023 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about DEUCE VAUGHN:
Kansas State | H: 5050 W: 179 40: 4.49 A: 2734 H: 0912 W: 6700
Junior entry, two-year starter, Round Rock, TX. Three time All-Big 12 and two-time first team All America as an all-purpose player. The 2020 Big 12 Freshman of the Year is the son of Cowboys’ Assistant Director of College Scouting, Chris Vaughn. Deuce exploded onto the scene right away as a true freshman and never looked back. He ranked sixth in the country in all-purpose yards the past two seasons. While his frame is nearly off the charts in the wrong direction, he is one of the few who can play running back in the NFL at the diminutive size. He is hard to find in traffic and moves with tremendous agility, burst, and long speed. His greatest impact will likely come as a pass catcher, but do not sleep on what he can do as a rusher. Naturally low to the ground, hard to find, and compounds it further with easy knee and hip flexion. Water bug quickness to avoid tacklers and shoots out of a cannon once in the open field. Separates from pursuers with an elite top gear. Runs sharp routes and shows outstanding ball skills as a receiver. Rarely lets the ball hit the turf. Just two fumbles over 770 career touches. Had a hard time consistently gaining yards after contact. Power packed frame still weighs well under the league average for a back. A clean shot almost always gets him to the ground. Does not sustain blocks in pass protection consistently. Will need a specific role and scheme to be most effective, but the unique skill set and impact on the passing game will be viewed as a hard-to-defend weapon in the passing game especially.
2022 Stats: 1558 yds, 5.3 ypc, 9 TD, 42 rec, 378 yds, 9.0 ypr, 3 TD. 4th/5th round.
