Junior entry, two year starter, Cincinnati, OH. Has the desired stature of an NFL corner and still has upside to develop. Has played press and off man along with deep outside zone concepts. As a press corner shows a two and one hand stab depending on the release. He can be disruptive at the line and alter the route. Has mirror ability and can stick to route breaks. As an off corner he’s effective with press and bail or a quick pedal. Maintains cushion and usually shows a smooth turn and run to stay in phase. Above average quickness on plant and drive with the ball in the air and has been productive preventing completions. Has ball skills in phase and can locate the ball on a vertical route. Has wrap up tackling skill but is often blocked out of the play. Lacks aggression and is too easily washed out of a play. His two hand jam often borders on a two arm tackle. He will be subject to holding penalties unless he tightens up that technique. At times is too fast to turn and run and over runs a comeback route. He’s vulnerable on double moves and lacks the speed to quickly recover. Occasional wasted steps show up in transition. As a zone defender he has had some bad blown coverage where he chases one receiver and loses deep third responsibility. At times appears lost as a zone defender on overlap and multiple routes. Has some tools and redeeming qualities but will need development.
2022 Stats: 48 T, 1.5 TFL, 1 sack, 10 PBU, 1 QBH, 1 FR, 1 INT. 7th round/PFA.
