Four year starter, St. Petersburg, FL. Moved to safety after starting at corner for three years. Has the frame and playing style of a safety and the move was a relatively seamless transition. Athletic for the position but he was a work in progress throughout his senior season. Showed versatility as he played one high and two high with both quarters and cover two. Would also drop to the box in match and flat coverage at times. As a two high safety showed the range to get off a hash and get over the top with solid angles to the ball. Easily flips his hips to gain ground in the deep zones and can high point the ball. Has vision necessary to process and position on route combinations. Corner skills showed when asked to match slot receivers. Fluid pedal and quick reactions on route breaks. Plays the cushion well and can turn and run to stay with a deep release. In run support was surprisingly quick to diagnose run pass and get downhill. Was aggressive stacking and shedding blocks and flashed big hit ability on tackles. Angles in pursuit were inconsistent and there were some big misses in space. Needs to learn to gather and react to cuts better working the alley. Lack of experience in two high coverage was evident working overlapping zones. With the bullets flying he at times had tunnel vision and lose a deep route from the opposite side. The upside and tools are there to develop as a versatile NFL safety. He should be an ace on special teams as he continues to learn the nuances of the position.
