Junior entry, two-year starter, Corona, CA. Honorable mention All-Pac 12 in 2022. Spent two years on an LDS mission in Brazil prior to enrolling at Stanford. Sat behind current Texans’ quarterback Davis Mills for a season before taking over under center in 2021. Stanford went 6-16 in his 22 starts, including just three conference wins. The team around him was poor, but McKee did have multiple pro-targets to throw to including two wide receivers that will be drafted in 2023. Even though a case can be made the offensive line held him back. He does know how to properly place the ball and he is advanced between the ears. If he gets put into a quality system with ample protection, he will have a much easier time showing what he is capable of with his arm. The upside is limited because his physical talent is a tier below, but he will at the very least add a positive presence in the quarterback room and he has a safe feel to him should the starter go down with an injury. A classic drop back passer with good size. Can sit and scope over the line. Goes through his reads and will trust the system. Does not evade the pocket too early. Good touch and tempo on his release. Will get it between levels of the defense. Accurate thrower left to right, puts it where the receiver can make a move immediately after catching the ball. Sets them up well. Has enough juice to make all the throws. He has a high-cut frame and a slow-moving lower half. The stiffness and length combination he shows below the waist at times makes his throwing motion erratic and inconsistent. Does not fit in with the new age of quarterbacks in the league that can create with his legs. Tight hips and slow feet. Will often have to rush an arm-throw because his lower half does not get lined up quick enough. Will not scare anyone with his legs. Has a lot of old school traits and play style to his game, but the lack of suddenness shows up in several ways. He will need to play in a system that focuses on traditional drop back passing and read progressions. He projects as a backup that could be a change of pace quarterback or one that fits a specific system.

2022 Stats: 264/426, 2947 yds, 62%, 13 TD, 8 INT, -90 yds rushing, 2 TD. 126.4 QB rating. 4th/5th round.
