Three year starter, Hopkinsville, KY. Honorable mention All-Big 10 in 2022. Long physical corner who came back from an ACL injury in 2021. Has experience in multiple coverage including press and off man and outside zone coverage including hard corner cover two. As a press corner is physical with a two and off hand jam and is effective altering the release. Rarely gives up leverage and stays attached to the receiver on the release. Has the speed to stay in phase on most vertical routes. In off-coverage shows a lateral shuffle pedal and is effective moving his feet to cut off route breaks. Flashes sudden plant and drive with the ball in the air. Uses length to his advantage to challenge the catch point. Anticipation and ball skills are excellent and he’s been productive getting his hands on balls. He’s an instinctive outside zone defender with a knack for closing voids in overlapping zones. Adept at reading the delivery key while positioning on multiple routes. As a hard corner uses his long arms to reroute receivers and ride them to the sideline. Solid skill at breaking on flat throws while working under a passing off a vertical release. Decent in run support he can separate and shed stalk blocks and flashes wrap up tackling skill. Gets a little tall in his pedal playing off and turn and run can be jerky at times. Can get lost on double moves and not recover. Recovery speed is average but length has made up for it at times. He still has upside and as a zone and press corner he has potential as the big corner NFL teams covet.
2022 Stats: 34 T, 2 TFL, 10 PBU, 2 INT (1 TD). OSR:16/30. 4th/5th round.
