Three-year starter, McDonough, GA. Missed the first four games of 2022. Was elected a two-time team captain. Had a long, productive career that landed him near the top of the all-time rushing and touchdown leaders in program history. He did so with a no-nonsense, one-cut running style that left plenty of bruises on defenders. A battering ram type back who will add energy to a running game. He is not creative or elusive and was rarely even looked at in the passing game. Fits into the short yardage, between the tackles role. Physical and aggressive downhill runner who leads with the shoulder and uses effective leg drive. Will stay hungry for every inch post-contact. Creates more than his fair share of missed tackles. Competitive and effective blocker. Provides initial shock and will stay attached. Had a massive fumbling issue in 2021 and he comes with small hands, short arms to secure. Put the ball on the turf seven times over his last 399 carries. Does not show much creativity in the open field. Does not look like a natural pass catcher. Will not get away from pursuers in space. Rodriguez is very good at the specific niche he was used in most often, inside short yardage. Beyond that he does not offer enough versatility or anything overly unique to his game.
2022 Stats: 904 yds, 5.2 ypc, 6 TD. 6th/7th round.
