Three-year starter, Fuquay-Varina, NC. Two-time All-Big 12. For such a big and physical receiver, he also brings plus agility and leaping ability to the table. While he does not always play with a consistent blend of skills, the tools are there to be a matchup nightmare at the next level. He has a growing ability to make the contested catch. His ball skills are still evolving, and he does let some drop to the turf, but he is on the upward trajectory and can take over one on one matchups if he smooths out the edges of his game. Big-time frame and play strength. Broad shoulders and a long reach attached to his frame give an enormous catch-radius. Can high-point the ball and does not get deterred by contact in traffic. Can go up and get it and shows plus-hand strength. Can change direction abruptly when his lower body joints are properly lined up. Excels with planned movement. Physical player that will break tackles after the catch, an absolute load to get to the ground. Will offer extra special teams support as a gunner and it could be his most influential spot. Does not show proper feel and tempo for his routes. Does not have the final gear to get over the top of the defense. Defenders can afford to get in his face to try and cut off everything underneath and intermediate. Gets caught up by coverage in his face at the point of attack. Will not get over the top of the secondary. Slows his tempo down when tracking the ball over shoulder. Drops too many of the easy ones. An ideal fit for a team looking to bolster the size and strength to the receiver room and he will be an effective gunner as well.
2022 Stats: 62-675, 10.9 ypr, 7 TD. OSR:2/46. 5th/6th round.
