Ourlads' Profile:
2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about LABRYAN RAY:
Alabama, 6040 283 5.30. Sporadic starter over his career, Madison, AL. In a rotational role at multiple positions. Has battled injuries for most of his career, with the serious ones being to his elbow and foot. The broad-chested, powerlifter-build lineman can line up along the entire defensive line and contribute solid run defense. The scheme he played in required a lot of two-gap responsibilities, thus odd-man fronts will likely have a draftable grade on him. Does not project as a threat to the passing game, as he lacks quality rush moves and he looks a step or two too slow. He may be able to stick as a backup lineman that specializes in run defense. Broad upper body with muscle growing on muscle. A strong lockout game paired with a sturdy base will give him two-gap potential. Consistent off the ball when it comes to staying square and maintaining a good pad level. Will keep his base wide and active. Versatile tools will allow him to move across the line and bring credible play to all run defending roles. Almost a complete nonfactor against the pass. Does not have the extra gear or plus-bend to scare a blocker athletically. Needs to play faster when it comes to making reads and reactions.
2021 stats: 11 T, 3 TFL, 1 sack, 4 QBH. Sixth/seventh round. (A-32 5/8, H-8 1/2, BP-DNP, 10-1.80).
