Two-year starter, Buffalo, New York. FCS Defensive Player of the Year in 2021 and first-team All-America, two-time first-team All-MEAC. Long, slim frame with a muscular upper and lower body. Played edge rusher in college despite his frame. A tremendous athlete who utilizes good explosiveness and considerable bend to win with speed off the edge and corner with fluid hips. Consistently makes plays due to his non-stop motor. Exceptional lateral agility and foot quickness helps him scrape across the offensive line with immense speed and shoot gaps to make his presence known in the backfield. Engages with physical toughness and uses quick hands to keep offensive linemen from getting their hands on him. Shows an arsenal of speed rush moves to win inside and outside in pass rush. Great closing speed on the quarterback and will finish with proper tackling technique. Shows great foot speed, effort, and desire when chasing ball carriers downfield in pursuit. His light frame will limit his abilities at the next level to play exclusively on the edge. Cannot be trusted to win versus run at the first level due to a lack of functional strength for his position. Will get blown off the ball by linemen and tight ends in run support, and cannot anchor down to stalemate linemen. Needs better hand placement on engagement; often does not work hands inside to assist with leverage. Stalls out in pass rush when he attempts to win with power. Shows athletic ability, lateral agility, pursuit skills, and competitiveness to shift to inside linebacker, which may be necessary for his skill set.
