2023 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about EKU LEOTA:
Auburn | H: 6030 W: 252 40: 4.75 A: 3312 H: 0912 W: 7934
Two year starter, Asheville, NC. Transfer from Northwestern in 2021 where he started one year and was third team All-Big 10 in 2020. A 3-4 outside linebacker prospect with excellent length for the position. Played the Stud or Rush linebacker position in the Auburn defense. Plays with solid effort and flashes ability in all areas. Uses strong hands to stun and separate from blocks on the edge. Plays with knee bend and is rarely moved off the line. Can ride a blocker on the edge and shed on the move. Can redirect off blocks giving him a two way go on the edge reacting to a back. Gathers and drives through tackles and makes most plays in space. As a pass rusher gives a great effort with a bull rush into a move. Keeps coming and flashes an inside counter move with a push pull. Makes a lot of plays with second effort refusing to quit on a play. Lacks suddenness at the snap and struggles to win with speed on the edge. Is not a great bend and squeeze rusher and can be too upright trying to turn the corner. Only average playing speed with minimal closing burst. Leota has value as a high effort fundamentally sound player who can make a team as a backup that might fit a rotation. Should have special team value.
