Three year starter, Shreveport, LA. Undersized as far as weight he’s a prospect with outstanding twitch and movement skills. Has played as a stack linebacker in the LSU scheme normally behind a one or three technique. Has also situationally played the overhang position. Quick to read his key he shows excellent lateral movement and sudden change of direction. Outstanding range in pursuit he can get to the perimeter and meet a ball carrier as he turns the corner. Inline he’s adept at getting downhill into open windows and making plays in the backfield. Excels in off tackle blitzes and scrapes. Solid wrap up tackling skill he rarely misses in space. Has excellent cover skills for a linebacker. Gets deep drops and has zone awareness to read the quarterback and pattern pressure. Positions well versus multiple routes and can find the throwing lane. Can match backs and tight ends in man coverage and is fluid mirroring route breaks. Can outrun and avoid blocks in space but lack of bulk is a limiting factor. He can get knocked out of plays if a blocker has a clean shot. He is not physical taking on blocks and is too easily washed out of plays. The scheme he played in protected him for the most part, but there are times he’s a non-factor against inside runs. While he makes most tackles, he can get dragged for extra yards. Has special team value as he has excelled on all special teams. His ticket in the NFL will most likely be as a special team player and sub package linebacker.
