Ourlads' Profile:
2019 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about TY JOHNSON: Maryland, 5103 213 4.32. Three year starter from Cumberland, MD. Rushed for 2,635 yards and 16 touchdowns in his career. Played with a calf injury through nine games last fall. As a sophomore he averaged 9.1 yards per carry. Only Stefon Diggs and Lamont Jordan had more total yards in their careers for the Terrapins than Johnson. He showcased his tools all Shrine Game week with his physical running style, leg drive, speed, and blocking ability. Catches the ball effortlessly in his hands. Averaged 6.3 yards per carry in the game and grabbed one screen pass for 10 yards. Will contribute on kickoff returns the next level. The explosive back returned kickoffs the past two seasons against Ohio State (100 yds) and Michigan (98 yds) for touchdowns. Also experienced covering punts. An all-around player who will contribute as a runner, receiver, and return specialist. Good blocking skills. Will stick his nose in there. Good body lean and lower body strength. Pro day notes: scouts had watches on Johnson at the Maryland pro day and his times ranged from 4.26 to 4.32. His 4.26 would have been the fastest at the 2019 Combine. 2018 stats (9 games): 506 yds, 7.7 ypc, 3 TD, 14-381 KOR, 27.2 avg, 1 TD. Not invited to Combine. Seventh round/PFA. (A-30 1/8, H-9 1/8, BP-27, SS-DNP).
