Three year starter, Lynnwood, WA. Was a transfer from Garden City CC in 2020. Tall prospect with ideal length for an edge defender. Has played all over the edge from a wide nine down to a four-i. Shows a quick first step and ability to stun and separate from blocks. Flashes power and can hold the point or set the edge with long arms. Shows decent lateral movement and plays with a high motor. Pursues on plays to the perimeter and on the backside. Shows range in pursuit. As a pass rusher can get his hands inside and work into a move. When he keeps his pads low he can get around the corner and effectively rip through a block. Shows a spin move to counter an overset. Has a closing burst when free. While he has tackling skill there are times when he struggles to gather and a ball carrier can run through a tackle attempt. As a somewhat high cut defender, has trouble maintaining pad level and he tends to play upright. Powerful blockers can stalemate him and he has trouble shedding. There is some stiffness in his hips and his agility is average. His change of direction can be segmented. Hand usage is inconsistent and he has problems keeping blockers off his chest. Lacks consistent force with his hands. Has flashed ability in all areas but inconsistency has limited his production. Has developmental talent and his length will be attractive as a possible depth player.
2022 Stats: 35 T, 5.5 TFL, 2 sacks, 2 PBU, 2 FF. Edge speed:left 2.08. 5th/6th round.
