Eastern Michigan | H: 6017 W: 243 40: 4.73 A: 3234 H: 0834 W: 7858
Two year starter, Lake Alfred, FL. Started his college career at Arizona in 2017 before transferring to Riverside CC and then EMU in 2020. First team All-MAC, consensus All-America and MAC Defensive Player of the Year in 2022. High motor player who played five and wide nine alignments in Eastern Michigan’s four man front. Excellent hip flexibility he gets into blockers at the snap with knee bend and quick strong hands. Usually plays with leverage and shows lateral agility to be a factor on the edge and sifting inside against the run. Can turn his quickness into power separating and disengaging from a block. Has been a factor attacking inside gaps on stunts. Effective on both exit and tex stunts. Shows solid range chasing plays from the backside. As a pass rusher has the bend to turn the corner and squeeze to the quarterback. He can bull rush into a move using his long arms to keep a blocker off his frame. He’s effective escaping with an arm under or over move. Also flashes a quick inside counter against oversetting tackles. Plays with a relentless motor and makes a lot of plays with second effort. He’s taken advantage of the competition and will get upright at times versus powerful athletic tackles. Lacks the bulk to stand up consistently against powerful blockers inline and is better suited in wide alignments. He’s over aged for his class but figures to fit as a rotational pass rusher.
