Ourlads' Profile:
2021 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about JABRIL COX: LSU, 6027 233 4.60. One starter, Kansas City, MO. Transfer from FCS powerhouse North Dakota State where he was a three year starter. Athletic linebacker with versatility to play inside and as an overhang player. High motor player he is at his best in run and chase situations with speed to make plays across the field. Excellent lateral movement he is outstanding getting to the alley on outside runs. Flashes explosive downhill ability he can make plays in the backfield when he gets an open window. Adept at timing the snap on inside and outside blitzes, he has a burst closing in the backfield. Has been productive with tackles for loss and sacks in his career. Solid in coverage he gets depth in his drops and finds the throwing lane. Causes quarterbacks to hesitate on read. Quick to break on the ball he has linebacker ball skills undercutting a route. Can match a back and some slots showing ability to mirror route breaks. Has the speed to stay with vertical routes. Flashes tackling skill he can be explosive driving through a tackle. More of a lateral movement player than downhill. Fits at inside gaps can be inconsistent and at times runs around blocks and takes a bad angle. Has some trouble redirecting in a short space and will allow a cutback. Not the most physical taking on blocks as he is inconsistent with stack and shed. Will get leveraged and upright on blocks. Occasionally he will overrun a tackle in space. Has the tools to improve and still has upside. Has the skill level of a three down starter in the NFL. He can fit as a 3-4 inside or a 4-3 outside linebacker. 2020 stats: 58 T, 6.5 TFL, 1 sack, 5 PBU, 4 QBH, 3 INT (1 TD). Third/fourth round. (A-32 3/4, H-9, BP-NA, SS-NA, VJ-NA).
