Ourlads' Profile:
2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about JONATHAN FORD:
Miami, 6051 333 5.25. Three-year starter, Fort Lauderdale, FL. Despite a career that did not create notable production, Ford brings a combination of tools that pro coaches will want to work with. His length and upper body twitch come along with a hefty frame and plus-height. He can fill the back end of a depth chart at either the zero or one technique where his run defense prowess and space-eating ability can factor. Will not offer much as a pass rusher. Plus-sized frame with well-distributed thickness throughout. Tall and wide with a pair of hands that belong to a heavyweight boxer. Can make a violent impact on contact when his pad level is along the right plane. Shows a short area burst and explosion that exceeds his timed speed. Can react to the action and close a gap in a hurry. Shows the potential to two-gap in odd number fronts. Gets the initial movement off the ball with a strong lockout game. Gets his hips too high as his eyes try to diagnose the action. Lacks feel for blocking schemes. Did not have consistent production or impact on the game. Balance and ankle mobility issues inhibit his pass rush potential.
2021 stats: 14 T, 1 TFL, 1 QBH. Edge speed:left 2.07, right 2.20. Seventh round/PFA. (A-32 3/4, H-9 1/4, BP-24, 10-1.84).
