Ourlads' Profile:
2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about TYLER GOODSON:
Iowa, 5093 197 4.42. Junior entry, three-year starter, Suwanee, GA. Earned Honorable Mention All-Big 10 in 2021 and first team honors in 2020. Does not have the ideal triangle numbers for the position, but he is proven to be a back who plays both bigger and faster than what the numbers say. There is a lot of tough-gamer in him when it comes to his running style and grit. He was a successful short yardage back and an effective blocker despite playing under 200 pounds. The sudden burst and aggressive mindset with the forward lean and low pad level he naturally has makes the subtle difference when he presses the hole. A very solid accessory piece to a backfield because of how much he can do. Sturdy frame that will play bigger than the listed size. Thick thighs in relation to the rest of his body that play both strong and twitchy. Shows excellent footwork as he works down the line as a zone runner. Squares the hips and points the toes forward in a blink. Runs behind his pads, showing plus-short area burst and power. An effective short yardage back and pass catcher. High effort blocker who brings surprising pop to the pass rusher and will stay on his man. Brings multiple accessory pieces to the backfield. Triangle numbers will end up on the lesser side. Does not carry a lot of weight for the position and top end speed will not create big plays. Lacks innovation and creativity in space. Does not always see the opportunities as he approaches traffic when it comes to cutback lanes and creases.
2021 stats: 1151 yds, 4.5 ypc, 6 TD, 31 rec, 247 yds, 7.9 ypr, 1 TD. OSR:8/28. Seventh round/PFA. (A-29 1/2, H-9, BP-15, SS-4.12).
