Ourlads' Profile:
2021 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about TREY SERMON: Ohio State, 6002 213 4.61. Started sporadically all four years of his career, Marietta, GA. Spent three seasons at Oklahoma where he won Co-Big 12 Freshman of the Year honors in 2017 before earning Honorable Mention All- Conference in 2018. His 2019 season was cut short after hyperextending his knee. He then transferred to Ohio State last fall and ended as the team’s leading rusher. He left Oklahoma because he was being phased out of the offense, as they had multiple future NFL running backs on the roster. He shined in his lone season with Ohio State and ended it strong. He is a physical downhill slasher who will run hungry and smart. His vision is a plus, he holds onto the ball, and he knows where to find extra yards. Angry and physical downhill runner that can slash his way to the second level with bad intentions. Plenty of lean body mass with functional strength and force. Thick above the knees and thin below. Has last-moment twitch and explosion. Always has that extra gear to call on in traffic. Fast eyes match his ability to burst. Takes what the defense gives while maintaining the balance and concentration to adjust to new cutback lanes. Outstanding ball security. Has a tendency to run high and take on too much contact. Needs to lower himself to the ground to protect his lower half and from taking unnecessary blows. Top end speed is limited. Was never featured much as a pass catcher. Averaged less than one catch per game over his career. Has been injured multiple times. 2020 stats: 870 yds, 7.5 ypc, 4 TD, 12 rec, 95 yds, 7.9 ypr. Fifth/sixth round. (A-32, H-9 1/2, BP-NA, SS-4.30).
