Ourlads' Profile:

2018 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about GERON CHRISTIAN: Louisville, 6051 298 5.38. Junior entry and three-year starter from Ocala, FL. After a high school career that was more devoted to basketball than football, Christian switched his commitment from Miami to Louisville. Three years later, he looking back on a career that saw 39 straight starts at left tackle and one third-team All-ACC honor and two honorable mentions. The Louisville offense over that span was one of the most productive in all of college football and Christian was right at the center of it. He passes the initial eyeball test. Tall, long, and thick with plenty of functional muscle and minimal bad weight. His foot speed is above average. His first few steps into his kick slide cover a lot of ground under control. Has good body control and awareness as he is waiting for contact with the defender. When engaged, he can control defenders with strong hands and the ability to stay in front of them. The athletic ability carries over to engagement-movement, especially as a run blocker. Loses track of hand placement while he is on the move as a pass blocker. They get low and wide too often, making it very difficult to engage and control. Is very reaction-based, and with the better defenders he saw in college, they were able to take advantage. Despite a ton of game action, he didn’t seem to mentally process things very well in 2017. In time, he can be a starting tackle in the league if he can fix technique issues like pad level and hand-work. OSR:26/38. Fourth/ fifth round. (A-35, H-10 3/4, BP-19, 10-1.87).
