Four year starter, Las Vegas, NV. Second team All-Pac 12 in 2022. Athletic corner with above average length. Solid movement skills with fluid overall transitions. Has played outside deep zone and both off and press man. In off coverage shows a smooth pedal normally with good cushion adjustments. Easily flips his hips to turn and run with vertical releases. As a zone defender processes route combinations and gets a read on the quarterback delivery key. Breaks quickly on underneath throws. He’s been productive getting his hands on balls. Normally has solid eye discipline in both man and zone. In man coverage he mirrors cuts and keeps focus on the receiver throughout the route. If in phase he can locate the ball and get to the catch point. In press man flashes mirror ability in a short space. In run support he is willing but struggles versus stalk blocks and can get run over by a bigger receiver. Prone to giving up yards after contact when tackling. In man coverage, as route elongates, he’s inconsistent staying connected and is vulnerable to change of pace routes. Timing on turn and run is inconsistent. In press occasionally gives up leverage at the snap and can be vulnerable to double moves both early and late in routes. He’s in recovery mode more than ideal and doesn’t show deep speed to consistently get back in phase. Flashes solid ability but will need to develop consistency in several areas to be a solid pro. Has backup potential in a zone heavy scheme.
