Ourlads' Profile:
2021 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about GARRET WALLOW: TCU, 6014 222 4.65. Two year starter, New Orleans, LA. Made the full time conversion to linebacker as a junior after playing both safety and linebacker as a sophomore. Athletic prospect, Wallow has lined up inside the box and as an overhang player. As a former safety is still developing read and react to keys but has improved. Normally gets downhill on tackle to tackle fits he shows agility in traffic to get to ball carriers. Sudden getting through open windows to make plays in the backfield. Can slip blocks on the move and has sideline to sideline range. Has tackling skill gathering and running through tackles. Adjusts well and can be explosive finishing. In zone coverage takes precise drops and has a feel for the throwing lane on intermediate routes. Has eye discipline to process route combinations while seeing the quarterback. Reroutes slots and tight ends in the seam and flips his hips inside. Has created some incomplete passes that don’t show up as PBUs. Quick to react with the ball in the air he limits gains on short underneath throws. Flashes man skill and mirrors route breaks by backs out of the backfield. Shows enough speed to stay in phase on wheel routes. Has been effective blitzing off the edge with a clear path. Still a work in progress playing through blocks. When working to the alley has a tendency to lose ball side leverage on a block. If confronted, lacks consistency to get over the top of a block and sometimes gets tied up. Occasionally is late with run read and will take false steps reacting. Will miss an occasional tackle in space. Wallow is a developmental prospect but has the tools of a three down Will linebacker. Has been productive on kick coverage units. 2020 stats: 90 T, 9 TFL, 3 sacks, 1 PBU, 5 QGH, 3 FF. Fifth/sixth round. (A-30 7/8, H-9 1/2, BP-22, SS-4.12,VJ-32.5).
