Two year starter, East Palo Alto, CA. Transferred from Laney CC in 2021 after starting there for two years. First team All-Pac 12 in 2022. Ideal height and length for an outside corner. Played a variety of techniques in off and press man along with outside zone coverage. As a press corner shows a stiff stab to disrupt release. Also plays a reactive press and with excellent stop start quickness to mirror route breaks and stay in phase. Rarely gives up leverage. Shows speed to stay with deep vertical routes. In off coverage often played with a big cushion and shuffle pedal. He’s quick to get into a lateral run as the cushion shrinks. Also would press and bail into a lateral run. Solid lateral agility with a burst coming out of a break and is adept at taking away the throwing lane. Shows a sudden plant and drive with the ball in the air and has been productive getting hands to the catch point. Can locate the ball in phase on a vertical route. As a zone defender flashes ability to process route combinations and read the quarterback. Has wrap up tackling skill but there are times he takes a bad angle and hesitates on the tackle. Will miss by going low. Can get grabby on a route break and is prone to holding and interference penalties. As a zone defender can get caught between shallow and deep routes and has given up a deep ball in an outside zone. Needs to correct some issues but has the tools of an NFL starter.
