Ourlads' Profile:
2020 Guide: What Ourlads' Scouting Services said about DARRYNTON EVANS: Appalachian State, 5101 203 4.47. Junior entry, two-year starter, Oak Hill, FL. Missed 2017 with a knee injury. Two time first-team All Sun Belt and winner of the 2019 Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Year Award. Has been a production machine for two straight seasons as a rusher, receiver, and kick returner. Lacks some standout traits for the position but his versatility and consistency will get him on a roster and possibly into a rotation quickly. He protects the ball well, gains plenty of yards after contact, and consistently falls forward. It may take him awhile to be the number one guy, but with the amount he can do, he will more than earn his keep. Top tier contact balance capable of taking on a tackler, holding his ground, and gaining yards after contact. Has a way of lowering his pad level right before contact is made with the defender. Can show late movement against a downhill defender to miss the meat of a hit. Tough and aware of what is needed. Will take what the defense offers and maximize his runs in traffic. A fall-forward back. Very good ball protection, just two career fumbles in nearly 600 touches. Adds kick return value. Doesn’t have the short area explosion to pose as a big play threat. Lacks innovation and wiggle. Will give up on a play too early, tunnel vision. Doesn’t push piles. Secondary contact as a blocker could use work, he is a one-blow kind of guy. 2019 stats: 1484 yds, 5.8 ypc, 18 TD, 21 rec, 198 yds, 9.4 ypr, 5 TD, 16-386 KOR, 24.1 avg, 1 TD. OSR:5/33. Fourth/fifth round. (A-31 5/8, H-9 1/4, BP-20, SS-DNP).
