Two-year starter, Apopka, FL. Spent five years at Auburn where he began his career as a defensive tackle before transitioning to the offensive line in his second season. Grad-transferred to Kentucky for his final year. Overcame significant adversity prior to beginning college. He was diagnosed with acute promyelocytic leukemia as a high school senior. He was declared cancer-free after eight months of chemotherapy. A six year career split between two SEC programs and two college degrees further prove maturity beyond his years. He has experience on both sides of the offensive line and there is enough raw power stemming from an enormous frame that will be enticing for a coach to get drawn in by. Strong above and below the waist he’s a long, wide and thick power blocker who can overwhelm one on one matchups. His play style can swallow defenders. Excellent reach-potential with an assertive and effective punch. Can lock his arms out and control a defender when his lower half is lined up. Tree-trunk anchor. Can stop a blitzer dead in his tracks. The lack of adjustment speed and quickness has always been a problem, however. Does not play with independent hands. Struggles on an island to mirror against quickness. Slow to move his feet laterally against stunts and twists. Will get top heavy. Not ready for the NFL trenches right now but it is hard to teach this size/power combination, thus he is worth a late round flier and some development time.
OSR:30/37. 7th round/PFA.
