Five-year starter, Katy, TX. Two-time first team All-Big 12 and a 2021 All America. Also won the Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year Award that season. Set the program record with 50 career starts. Of his 3,554 snaps, 3,446 of them came at left tackle. The athletic and dependable blind side protector rarely allowed pressure as a pass blocker and did his best work in zone blocking schemes in the running game. There are a few body issues that need to be considered when diagnosing where he works best at the next level. His arms are short and his legs are thin, a rough combination for NFL trench-play. His experience and body control best line up for him to play a backup swing tackle role in a zone-heavy scheme. Disciplined player with consistent techniques from head to toe. Stays within himself and avoids oversetting. Will strike the chest plate and keep hands on different levels of the defender to maximize control. Keeps his feet moving and active. Assertive with his hips as a run blocker. Gets in the hole and stays attached on the move. Can bend well, stays square. Less-than ideal arm length and lower body mass. Core strength needs to be developed, as he will get thrown off his point by a low, strong defender. Balance and stability are too shaky. Needs to adjust better when defenders cross his face in pass protection. May not have enough physical upside to project as a starter at the next level as his progress flatlined in recent years, but the floor is high enough to provide quality depth.
