Ourlads' Profile:
2018 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about TRE'QUAN SMITH: Central Florida, 6016 203 4.51. Junior entry and three-year starter from Delray Beach, FL. Has a good frame and size. Can play outside or inside receiver. Has exceptionally long arms. A downfield playmaker who flashed ball skills during his career. Has good acceleration into the route with smooth strides chewing up defensive backs’ cushions allowing for a quick throw. Uses his body control to shield defensive backs and make the throwing window available. Has good timing and athletic ability to go over defenders’ heads to make acrobatic catches. Makes catches in tight spaces with good adjustments and quick hands. Has good leaping ability. Good run after catch using balance, vision, and strength to gain extra yardage. Effective run blocker. Good enough athlete to win at the position. Doesn’t have top end elite speed. Struggles versus press man coverage on the outside, better suited in the slot for now. Route crispness needs work. Doesn’t make catches outside of his body as much as you would like to see given his length. Has average hand play at the top of the route allowing the defensive back to control him at times. Overall a good sized receiver with great leaping ability and plus ball skills to win downfield. Route work needs time to develop but has enough speed and size to contribute on special teams. 2017 stats: 59-1171, 19.9 ypr, 13 TD. OSR:22/45. Third/ fourth round. (A-33 3/8, H-9 1/2, VJ-37.5, SS-4.50).
