Ourlads' Profile:
2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about KEAONTAY INGRAM:
USC, 5114 221 4.53. One-year starter, Carthage, TX. Spent three seasons at Texas where he started off and on all three years. Transferred to USC for 2021 and earned the starting role which led to an Honorable Mention All-Pac 12 recognition. Ingram is a physical, strong runner between the tackles with excellent running back mechanics. He stays behind his pads with a solid forward lean that will rip through arm tackles. He can gain a lot of yards after the catch and plays hungry. Also proved he can factor on third downs both as a pass catcher and blocker. This is a back who can do everything across the board with a physical brand. Thick thighs and ankles produce enough power and juice to absorb hits while maintaining forward momentum. Physical brand that welcomes contact with open arms. Will lower his center of gravity and run behind his pads. Presses the hole and shows the suddenness to adjust late when creases disappear. Trustworthy runner between the tackles who rarely goes down on initial contact. Carries the ball high and tight through traffic. Effective on third downs via his receiving and blocking ability. Lower body bend leaves something to be desired and it causes agility issues. Has a hard time consistently reaching the edge as an outside runner. Often needs the extra step or two to fully change direction. Eyes get too set on the initial path and won’t always see the cutback. Small hands and a short reach.
2021 stats: 911 yds, 5.8 ypc, 5 TD, 22 rec, 156 yds, 7.1 ypr. OSR:14/28. Seventh round/PFA. (A-31 3/4, H-9 1/4, BP-23, SS-4.44).
