Ourlads' Profile:
2021 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about CORNELL POWELL: Clemson, 6001 205 4.53. One-year starter, Greenville, NC. Earned third-team All ACC honors last fall. His receiving line was nearly double output across the board from his previous four seasons combined. Clemson had a very crowded wide receiver room filled with current and future NFL contributors. Powell had to wait his turn and he took full advantage of it in 2020. Has average height but comes with long arms and huge hands. A little rough around the edges when it comes to sudden, impromptu movement as a route runner and with the ball in the air. Needs to enhance his skill set. He can excel, however, with the ball in his hands. Strong, runs with outstanding contact balance, and plays hungry. Projects as a special teamer early on but can evolve into a threat on all areas of the route tree in the next couple of years. Chiseled frame with a lot of muscle mass and functional twitch. Strong presence as a route runner and ball carrier. Can make an impact after the catch. Has the mentality of a running back. Breaks tackles with good forward lean, strong stiff arm, and a never-die mentality. A lot of grit and hustle. Comes back to the pass in the air and will beat defenders to the point. Shows route running potential that creates good separation underneath and intermediate. Has build up speed to pose as a deep ball threat. 2020 stats: 53-882, 16.6 ypr, 7 TD. Fourth/fifth round. (A-32 1/8, H-10, VJ-36.5, SS-4.21).
