2024 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about OLU FASHANU:
Penn State | HT: 6060 | WT: 312 | 40 time: 5.11 | Arm: 3400 | Hand: 0812 | Wing: 8258
Two-year starter. All-Big 10 the last two seasons, first team in 2023. Winner of the Rimington-Pace Big 10 Offensive Lineman of the Year Award. Fashanu is a player who can start at left tackle right away. There will be power-based losses early on, but the 21-year-old should be able to enhance his strength soon enough to be considered an ideal blind side protector for today’s NFL. His athleticism and attention to detail will be sought after by offensive line coaches looking to develop a young talent. Well-proportioned frame with a broad and thick upper body. Lower body thins out and supports athletic blocking style. Plays with an overly wide setup, showing rare flexibility with easy, natural flexion at all joints. Abruptly fires out from stance with a productive first step and ready hands. Throws the initial jab without a loss of balance, rate of speed in lower half, or body control. Accurate hand placement capable of re-adjusting. Can screw his legs into the ground with an upright chest and inside hand position. Maximizes his strength when his feet are where they need to be. Easy redirect against inside moves, consistent protection of the outside edge. Stays within himself against stunts and double moves. Maintains composure when complex schemes are coming at him. Climbs to the second level and gets out in space like a tight end. Full force on the move and able to adjust weight and direction without notable loss in speed or power. Needs to continue his strength progression, notably to his lower half to enhance his effectiveness in the running game. Does not yet have the power to displace defenders. Overly reliant on speed and quickness, but will need to improve the core strength to be a complete package and that will take time.
