2024 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about RICKY PEARSALL:
Florida | HT: 6010 | WT: 189 | 40 time: 4.41 | Arm: 3078 | Hand: 0914 | Wing: 7338
Three-year starter. All-Pac 12 in 2021. Spent three seasons at Arizona State where he finished as the team’s leading receiver in his final year before transferring to Florida where he led the team in receiving two straight years. Pearsall is a refined receiver with a pro-caliber skill set across the board. His alignment versatility and experience as a pre-snap motion player will give a play caller several options when it comes to his usage. He is a machine on third down, as over two thirds of his catches went for a first down or touchdown at Florida. The ability to win at the start of the route and his feel for coverages will make him a quarterback’s best friend in high-leverage situations. Is not the most physically gifted player when it comes to sheer size and speed, but his sudden movement traits, near-perfect hands, and toughness will make him a consistently dependable threat at the next level. He is a year-one contributor who can catch 70+ passes per year if he is in the right system and role. Easy bending lower half that plays both twitchy and loose. Can alter his release at the line and win initially. Separation underneath and intermediate comes easy. Locates the ball and frames it with his hands. Catching the ball looks like a suction cup. Fast to get north with the ball, picks up the hidden yards. Competitive player that will put his body on the line. Always under control and balanced near the boundary. Smaller frame than his height will suggest. Radius is small. Does not have a power element to his game and it shows up as a ball carrier and blocker. Gets caught up against contact in coverage. Needs space to be effective. Final gear down the field is not there to separate deep.
2023 Stats: 65-965, 14.9 ypr, 4 TD, 62 yds rushing, 2 TD. OSR:3/33. Draft projection: 2nd/3rd round
