2024 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about MIKE SAINRISTIL:
Michigan | HT: 5093 | WT: 182 | 40 time: 4.47 | Arm: 3078 | Hand: 0812 | Wing: 7412
Two year starter. Second-team All-Big 10 and consensus All-America in 2023. Was a two way standout in high school and started his Michigan career as a wide receiver. He started six games there over his first three years in the program. When the need arose, he moved over to defense where he has excelled the last two years. Highly energetic player with fluid athletic traits. Has played the nickel spot in Michigan’s defense and was a consistent playmaker this past season. Playing the slot he mixed a flat foot read with a shuffle pedal and transitions well in all directions. Shows good zone awareness in underneath zones and has a great feel for pattern pressure in flat and hook drops. Gets depth and peripheral vision allows him to see the threats along with the quarterback. He finds the throwing lane and can make plays on the ball from a distance. Quick reacting to the delivery key, he’s sudden to plant and drive with the ball in the air. The receiver in him shows with excellent hands and ability to undercut a receiver and get to the ball. In man coverage, if beaten showed remarkable recovery speed with notable quick change of direction. Excellent in run support he plays bigger than he is, showing an aggressive demeanor and no fear attacking blockers. Surprising ability to stun and separate from blocks. He can also quickly slip blocks on the move in space. Explodes into tackles with drive and finish. Struggles some in man cover with limited press experience. Vulnerable to double moves he could get lost at the stem and put in recovery mode. Lack of ideal size and length could be a hindrance at the next level. Still has upside and should develop into a solid slot corner.
