Junior entry, three-year starter. All-Big 12 in 2023 and won the Big-12 Offensive Newcomer of the Year Award. Spent two years at Georgia where he started 15 games. Missed 9 games due to injury in 2022 before transferring to Texas last season and leading the Big 12 in touchdowns. His combination of size, smooth movement traits, and ball skills make him a dangerous weapon on all levels of the route tree. If he can become more complete and consistent when it comes to effort and concentration, he will be a key piece to a quality passing game. The worst case would be a good red zone threat and third down target. All of the traits are there for him to be a high-end possession receiver at the next level. Release tactics and approaches to the football show tremendous short area burst and control. Ability to gain initial separation and trick defensive backs with double routes will work with well-timed and accurate passes. While the final gear may not be enough to lengthen separation as a vertical route runner, he does not let the ball hit the turf. Just one drop since the start of 2022. Footwork and snappy hips give him high-end route running upside and he can play a strong game in traffic. Very coordinated in the air when attacking the ball. Effort as a ball carrier and blocker were not consistent and his ability after the catch never made an impact. Intensity switch appears to run hot and cold. Does not separate like his tool set says he should. Should be able to play more of a power game at that size. Plays on his own clock. 2nd/3rd round.
