Western Michigan | HT: 6030 | WT: 267 | 40 time: 4.75 | Arm: 3412 | Hand: 0918 | Wing: 8338
Three year starter. Second-team All-MAC in 2023. Rotational edge defender at Western Michigan, he has imposing length and a solid frame for an edge rusher. Has played as a five, four, and nine with his hand in the dirt. He’s also aligned standing both inside and outside. Most often used as a blitzer in a two point. Plays with a high motor and makes plays with relentless second effort. Flashes quickness at the snap and shoots his hands into blockers. Uses his long arms and strong hands to shock and separate from tackles. Can shed blocks and make plays along the line with decent lateral movement. Can set the edge versus tight ends and work outside off the block. Excellent tackle radius to wrap and engulf ball carriers at the line. As a pass rusher, has a powerful bull rush that can knock a tackle back and collapse the pocket. Can also work it into a move such as an arm under or push pull to counter. Shows bend and squeeze to the quarterback turning the corner. As a standup linebacker has been used as what some teams call a Joker to blitz different gaps. Has been effective in that role, anticipating the snap and getting into a gap. Relentless effort has created inside pressure on those blitzes. Lacks elite lateral agility on the edge and a speedy back can get around him at times on the perimeter. Gets more pressures than sacks as he lacks a great closing burst. Could develop more pass rush technique to enhance his power game. He will get tied up with blocks at times and get washed out. Has some versatility in his play and could be a fit as a rush 3-4 outside linebacker or a 3-4/4-3 five technique.
