Three year starter. First-team All-ACC in 2023. Tall lean corner with length for the position. Experienced in off zone and man coverage along with press man. Was used as the boundary corner in the Boston College defense. In press man he shows a reactive press while flashing a two or off hand jam depending on release. In off man he shows a shuffle press to maintain a tight cushion. Has the speed to stay with vertical routes and excellent recovery speed if he gets out of phase on a route break. Solid zone awareness he reacts well to combo routes and balances receivers in overlapping zones. Disciplined to stay with responsibility in outside zone concepts. Notable ability to read and react to the quarterback and receivers with the play in front. Has a burst reacting laterally or forward out of his plant with the ball in the air. Excellent ball skills, he uses his length to go high attacking the catch point. In phase he can get his head around, locate the ball, go up and take it away. Has been productive with interceptions and pass breaks. Willing in run support but often shows wasted steps gathering on tackles and either whiffs or hangs on. Pedal can be upright and in transition shows some segmented movement. Has some hip tightness and he’s vulnerable to double moves. Can get turned around on cuts by shifty receivers. Occasionally lets receivers get on his toes in his pedal and is beaten on quick cuts. At times, goes with the first move away from leverage creating an opening for the receiver. His speed, length and ball skills will get him drafted but he will be scheme dependent.
