2024 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about TROY FRANKLIN:
Oregon | HT: 6017 | WT: 176 | 40 time: 4.41 | Arm: 3178 | Hand: 0834 | Wing: 7714
Junior entry, two-year starter. All-Pac 12 and All-America in 2023. Franklin is going to change how a defense defends the pass when he comes on the field. He goes from zero to sixty in a blink, putting tremendous pressure on deep coverage. An easy and natural mover on anything vertical with enough bendability to avoid contact and gain immediate separation. Has the very-reachable potential to be one of the top downfield threats in the league right away. In order for him to be more than that, he needs to be more precise with both his routes and ability to run the full tree. Wiry build with good play-strength but enough bendability to maximize movement in tight areas. Plays long and strong. Explosive which puts vertical pressure on the defense. Shoots out of cannon with refined and versatile releases. Can miss contact with press corners and there is no catching him from behind. Sharp and abrupt cuts. A credible deep threat in the league right away. Tracks the ball with easy body control and ability to adjust. Can twist and turn his body while moving at his top rate of speed. Competitor after the catch. Fights for yards and will break tackles weekly. Improved ball-carrying power all three years. Still has work to do as a route runner on specific comeback routes. Will get too high and use an extra step or two. Separation does not come as easy underneath. Needs to attack the ball with hands in traffic rather than let it into his body. Hands are not soft.
2023 Stats: 81-1383, 17.1 ypr, 14 TD. OSR:25/33. Draft projection: 1st/2nd round
