Five-year starter. Second-team All-Big 12 selection this past season, honorable mention in 2021. Extensive experience with 69 games played in his collegiate career. Aligns most regularly at field safety with some reps at nickel. Notably undersized prospect with a thin frame and short arms. Operates and succeeds in a number of different coverages, including man, underneath zone, single-high and split-safety coverages. Possesses an exceptional athletic profile that helps him make plays all over the field. As a one-high defender, gets depth with a fluid back pedal and stays deeper than the deepest receiver. Sees the whole field with impressive vision to leverage routes while reading the quarterback. Weaves with the quarterback’s eyes and knows exactly when to open up and trigger. Considerable range as a one-high defender who opens his hips seamlessly and takes proper angles to both deep passes and throws underneath of him.
