Three-year starter. All-Pac 12 in 2023 and 2022, first-team in 2022 in addition to first-team All-America as a punt returner after leading the nation with an 18.3-yard average with two touchdowns. Gould is a short receiver with a diminutive frame that does not provide much margin for error for a quarterback. His initial value at the next level will come on special teams as a returner. His blend of acceleration and speed (which he got recognized for in high school track) shows up with the ball in his hands. Has the kind of burst to lengthen separation from tacklers with each step. The athletic ability shows up as a route runner, as he proved he can get open on all three levels of the route tree. If he can improve the ball skills and create more after the catch, he can be a big-play slot at the next level. At worst, he will improve someone’s return game. Can plant his foot in the ground and cut sharply. Does not give away route intentions. Sets defenders up and understands leverage. Separation and creating space come natural for him. Has elite speed once in the open field. Low success rate in contested situations. Hands are not automatic. Will put some easy ones on the ground. Needs to be stronger after contact, rarely broke tackles.
