Three-year starter. Played in 57 games throughout his collegiate career. All-Pac 12 honorable mention in 2023. Typically aligned as the boundary safety with some reps in the box at linebacker depth, and some reps at outside cornerback against certain formations. Possesses phenomenal height, weight, and length with an eye-popping frame and extremely long arms. Aligns with a natural, explosive stance with notable bend in his waist and extremities. Elite short-area burst and accelerates instantaneously. Decent range as a high defender using fluid hips and quick reaction time to break on the ball quickly. Takes long strides in space to make ground quickly in coverage and in pursuit. In split-safety coverages, able to recognize route concepts quickly and leverage his area well with exceptional athleticism. Great in transition with quick reaction speed and change-of-direction skills. Solid ball skills and will get his hands in the way to break up passes in the air using his abnormally long arms. Fires downhill to fill holes in run support. Uses considerable agility to work through traffic in the trenches to make his way to the ball carrier. Wraps up with good form using his length to finish tackles. An enticing last line of defense option using substantial open-field tackling ability. Shows difficulty visioning the quarterback and reading the field from one-high positioning. In off-man coverage, he is prone to getting set up by receivers on the stem. He opens his hips up too early and too far allowing receivers to cross his face with little difficulty. He has shown hesitancy to close space between him and the ball carrier to tackle. Needs to improve his angles in pursuit. Struggles mightily to handle blocks from receivers downfield, especially crack blocks, and can get washed out of the play. Will allow some yards-after-contact to bigger running backs when tackling.
