Ourlads' Profile:
2024 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about RASHEEN ALI:
Marshall | HT: 5112 | WT: 206 | 40 time: 4.53 | Arm: 3114 | Hand: 0858 | Wing: 7438
Three-year starter who missed most of the 2022 season. All-Sun Belt in 2023 and first-team All-Conference USA in 2021. Took the nation by storm as a redshirt freshman in 2021 scoring 23 touchdowns, tied for the most in FBS. After that freshman All-America season, Ali pumped the brakes to address his emotional, physical, and mental health. Came back strong last fall but a ruptured biceps tendon suffered at the Senior Bowl in February will cloud his initial impact at the next level. His homerun ability and aggressive, wild, but balanced running style is an attractive weapon for zone-blocking schemes. The issues in his game can be cleaned up via quality coaching and hard work, but the natural explosion and innovation he has cannot be taught. Easy vision and feel as he presses the hole. Can make himself slender and slippery while maintaining his build up speed. Acceleration is violent. Loose hips and ankles allow him to subtly change direction pre-contact with defenders. Maintains his mindset as a blocker and will be a threat as a receiver. Needs to secure the ball tighter to his body. Twelve fumbles in what summed up to be two college seasons. Slender body frame with small hands. Does not always fall forward. Sheer power will not push piles. Short yardage situations do not fit his skill set. Will drop some easy ones.
2023 Stats: 1135 yds, 5.4 ypc, 15 TD, 28 rec, 213 yds, 7.6 ypr, 1 TD. Draft projection: 5th-7th round
