Two-year starter. Spent three seasons at Michigan before transferring to Tennessee in 2021 where he lost his job to Hendon Hooker (Detroit third round pick in 2023). Milton has rare arm strength combined with a plus-sized frame and easy confidence. The traits are there to create the high-ceiling outlook if he can be properly developed. In order for him to come anywhere near that ceiling, he needs a lot of ducks to line up perfectly. His mechanics, ability to read a defense, and accuracy all need significant upward strides, or the bottom is going to fall out fast. Hit or miss, star or castoff. Top-shelf size and arm strength. Tall with easy and well-distributed mass throughout entire frame to take hits and stay upright. Puts the ball on a rope across the field without full effort needed. Will launch the ball deep as far as he needs to. Flick of the wrist without lower body involved will still be on par with the best arms in the league. Comfortable and confident making every throw. Takes care of the ball. Calculated risk taker who stays away from hero ball. Will live to fight another day. Good decision maker who can smoothly alter his play style based on situations. Steadily improved his game as he got deeper into his starting career. Too many wide misses as a passer. Accuracy does not come naturally to him. Rushes himself at times, skipping important footwork mechanics. Locks on to his target and struggles to efficiently get to number two/three reads. Has not proven he can throw with different touch consistently. Too much “shot in the dark” to his game.
