Two year starter. Transfer from Ohio State in 2022. Honorable mention All-Big 12 in 2023. Tall corner with a lanky frame and outstanding length. Experienced in off and press man along with outside zone and hard corner concepts. Also has lined up inside over tight ends and slot receivers. Uses long arms to disrupt release in press and hard corner technique. In press man can reroute and work a receiver to the sideline on turn and run. Used both a reactive press and physical two and off-hand jams. Usually maintains leverage. With hands on can mirror through the early stages of the route and close throwing windows on route breaks. Length makes it difficult for quarterbacks to drop it in the bucket when he’s in phase or a step behind a vertical route. Has enough speed to stay in phase deep especially when considering length. In off coverage, maintained cushion with a deliberate pedal into a lateral run with man or zone turns. Solid press and bail as well. Adept at hard corner zone technique rerouting and balancing short and intermediate routes. Uses his length to close off the throwing lane. In run support, flashes ability to shed stalk blocks. Struggles to gather on tackles but can wrap and drag. He’s a long strider so he struggles with quick transitions, lacks ideal lateral agility, and is prone to get separated on quick cuts. If separated on a route, lacks recovery speed and quickness. Has not had a lot of ball production as he has trouble locating the ball in phase. Length is his calling card and he uses it well. Could project to safety but a lot of teams like big corners.
