Notre Dame | HT: 6045 | WT: 239 | 40 time: 4.66 | Arm: 3334 | Hand: 1000 | Wing: 8012
One-year starter. Transfer from Ohio State prior to the 2023 season where he was a consistent contributor dating back to 2019. Plays with his hands in the dirt as a five-tech and as a standup wide-nine tech, and will bump inside to a variation of four-tech in odd fronts. Possesses excellent height and length but is very undersized for the position in terms of weight. Gets under the pads of the offensive lineman to gain immediate leverage. Powerful and active on contact which makes him difficult to be blocked. Sets a hard edge with long arms to create extension and a sturdy anchor. He won’t overcommit on the edge until the ball is declared. Shows a couple pass rush moves with a long arm and hand swipe to win. Flashes an effective spin move. Converts speed to power effectively to drive linemen into the backfield and collapse the pocket. A solid athlete with notable agility and foot quickness on stunts and twists. Explosive when tackling. A high effort player in pursuit who catches ball carriers from behind and will win with second effort. Slow first step off the line-of-scrimmage hinders his ability to beat offensive tackles to a point. Needs to lower his pad level more consistently so he doesn’t get stood up as often. Lacks sufficient bend off the edge to corner effectively and flip his hips to the quarterback. Doesn’t display a polished pass rush plan and stalls out regularly. Needs to add more moves to his arsenal to win on the edge. Relies too much on spinning when he doesn’t win initially in pass rush which causes him to stall out. Late Day Three prospect.
