Three year starter. First-team All-Mountain West, third-team AP All-America and winner of the Jim Thorpe award for the best college defensive back. Cousin of NFL Hall of Fame safety Ed Reed. Taylor came to Air Force at 180 pounds and picked up 25 pounds of solid weight by his redshirt sophomore year. Versatile, he’s aligned as a deep hole player, cover two and quarters along with the box. Athletic with excellent agility and reactions. Normally tracks moving downhill from quarters and overhang alignments. Notable chase ability with remarkable range. Solid one-on-one tackler he’s aggressive and explosive on the hit. Wraps, drives and finishes tackles. Has instincts and range in coverage and flashes ability to recognize route combinations and balance multiple receivers in deep middle and outside zones. Has range in all levels along with recovery speed if out of position. Capable underneath zone defender in the box, he finds throwing lanes under intermediate routes and is quick to plant and drive on underneath throws. Excellent ball skills, plays through the hands breaking on the ball and in phase. Extends to the high point on interception opportunities and has great hands. As an overhang he can match slots and tight ends with mirror ability to stick route breaks and stay in phase. Has been used effectively to blitz off the edge. Shows hesitation attacking blocks and struggles deconstructing blocks from inside receivers. Angles to the ball can be inconsistent and at times wastes steps getting him off track. Inconsistent with positioning in deep zones he can get too focused on one receiver. His special team value and versatility make him attractive to any team.

2023 Stats: 74 T, 5 TFL, .5 sack, 4 PBU, 1 BK, 3 INT (1 TD). Draft projection: 5th-7th round
