Two year starter. Second-team All ACC in 2023. Lengthy corner with long arms and wingspan. Has experience in multiple concepts in off and press man along with outside zone. Also has experience playing inside at nickel. As a press corner, long arms help him disrupt the release and allow him to get to balls while shadowing the receiver through the route. Seems more comfortable playing tight to the line even when playing zone as he gets into his lateral run on a press and bail at the snap. In off coverage, uses a shuffle pedal to maintain cushion. Fluid turn and run along with easy transitions, his loose hips and agility allow him to mirror route breaks consistently. In zone, flashes ability to balance multiple routes. He reacts well to plays in front of him with quick plant and drive on the ball. Has been productive with ball skills as his long arms get him consistently to the catch point even playing from behind. In run support he gets involved with tackles but technique is spotty and he does not seek contact. As the route is extended can get a little grabby as he doesn’t always trust recovery speed. He has been beaten deep on a quick cut and unable to get back in phase. As a zone defender he’s inconsistent with eye discipline as he can lose sight of receivers coming from overlapping zones. Has been the primary punt returner and that skill will help his draft projection. Could project to sub packages as a nickel.
