Three-year starter. Transfer from South Carolina prior to the 2023 season. Second-team All-ACC this past season. Aligned all over the place for Florida State, including in-line, flexed out in the slot and perimeter, and in the backfield. A well-undersized tight end prospect with under-average arm length. A feisty run blocker who engages with a violent punch to set the tone early. Shows solid strength to drive linebackers off the line with consistency. A substantial athlete with great movement skills to succeed when pulling and climbing to the second and third level. Fires into contact when lead blocking to knock second and third level defenders out of the way. Keeps his head on a swivel in pass protection looking for targets. Quality release off the line-of-scrimmage when split out at receiver. Notable speed to stretch the field vertically. Soft, reliable hands make him an enticing checkdown option in the passing game. Fights to win contested catches downfield. Took handoffs out of the backfield and used solid vision to see holes develop, matched with impressive burst to hit the gap with a full head of steam. Does a good job pressing his aiming point before bouncing to set up blocks for his line. Fights for yards-after-contact and will break tackles while keeping his feet churning. Fires his hands outside and exposes his chest too often when run-blocking. Needs to improve his leverage in run game and pass protection as he often widens out too far allowing defenders to shoot inside for an easier path to the ball carrier. Tight hips limit his snap at the top of his route. Limited catch radius makes it difficult to secure catches outside of his strike zone. Skill set fits best as a fullback, and his effectiveness will be heavily scheme-dependent.
