Texas Tech | HT: 6060 | WT: 278 | 40 time: 4.67 | Arm: 3678 | Hand: 0978 | Wing: 8614
One year starter. Transferred to Texas Tech in 2022 after four seasons at Louisiana-Monroe including one redshirt year. Tall edge defender with an incredible wingspan and long arms. Is more of a project at this point but has outstanding traits with speed, power, length and height. Has played a standup outside linebacker along with a five technique with his hand in the dirt. Shows a quick first step and shoots his hands and long arms into blockers to stun and separate. Flashes ability to shed on the move. Plays with knee bend and power and can hold the point consistently playing the run. Excellent tackle radius he can reach and wrap ball carriers a gap over after escaping a block. As a pass rusher uses long arms to stab and chop or swipe, working the outside shoulder of a tackle. Can get around the corner with an arm under move with leverage and bend. Lacks an inside counter move as he can give a tackle an opportunity to overset and ride him out. He can be slow to redirect and hesitate adjusting to quarterback step up and scramble. Needs to add more to his pass rush arsenal to take advantage of his power and long arms. Doesn’t always locate the ball as he lacks instincts and can show hesitation at times. Doesn’t consistently react to blocks coming from the inside and can get washed out. Has not been as productive in the pass rush as his physical tools indicate. Teams will view him as upside and value him based on their view of what he can be.
