Four-year starter. Played in 55 games over his six-year collegiate career. All-Pac 12 honorable mention this past season. Aligns in-line and flexed out on the perimeter and in the slot. Fringe height and undersized with decent arm length. A high effort and assertive blocker who plays with tenacity to win when engaged. Fast firing feet when climbing with a sturdy base to leverage second and third level defenders. Good technique in pass protection with active hands and feet on engagement. Solid release off the line when going out to catch passes. Sharp cuts in his routes, and smooth out of his breaks to accelerate and separate. Sticks his arms out to catch the ball away from his body with soft hands. High-points the ball in the air with good timing. Uses side-steps and jukes to pick up yards after the catch. Slow to shoot his hands and lets defenders control the point first. Poor functional strength as he cannot get any drive against edges and linebackers. His lack of strength in his lower body hurts his anchor, causing him to get driven back in pass protection and against the run. Needs to improve his hand usage to better leverage targets. Strength deficiencies allow defenders to easily shed blocks and get in the backfield. Slow to flip around to the quarterback on underneath routes. Lacks the game speed to stretch the field vertically. Slow with the ball in his hands.
