Auburn | HT: 6023 | WT: 286 | 40 time: 5.06 | Arm: 3200 | Hand: 0958 | Wing: 7814
Four-year starter. Transfer from Kansas. First-team All-SEC selection in 2023. He would shift between the three-tech and 2i in even fronts, and typically aligned as a 4i in odd fronts. Possesses average height and below average weight with good muscle definition and short arms. Good explosiveness upfield to make considerable ground in his initial steps. Quick to react and match footwork with offensive linemen versus zone schemes. Plays with low pad level. Engages with hands inside, or will work them inside to win leverage. Disruptive at the point-of-attack where he creates push into the backfield with considerable knockback. Powerful hands and quick feet to shed and stack offensive linemen quickly. Defeats blocks with a quick swim move. Against the run, he is best at squeezing his way into gaps with solid strength and a tough, aggressive playstyle to work through to the backfield. Collapses the pocket when rushing the passer and forces the quarterback to escape. Slants into gaps with decent agility. Notable acceleration to close on the signal-caller in a hurry. Makes tackles in the trenches and in space with good form. A high motor player who shows eagerness to contribute on every rep. When head-up with linemen versus the run, he gets knocked off the line and loses the trench battle; solely a one-gap run defender. Cannot be relied upon to hold up against double teams as he gets flattened and thrown out of his gap quickly. Needs lots of work in pass rush to be a consistent factor. Shows a lack of initial and counter pass rush moves to get to the quarterback. Needs a better plan of attack to generate pressure. His lack of pass rush skills, small stature, and length may limit his role at the next level.
